There are many resources and programs that are approved by the International Safe Schools Committee to assist in fulfilling the Indicators for Safe Schools.
The International Safe Schools Guide is a document undergoing constant revision with new electronic versions at least once per year.
The Safe Schools Committee formed originally to define the process and begin designating schools in May 2001 at the 10th World Health Organization International Safe Communities Meeting, now has a dedicated steering committee which has quarterly teleconferences to bring together new findings and research the effectiveness of the Guide and blend new tools with the older.
